Dr. Jacob Rifkind, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Raised in Toronto, Jacob Rifkind completed his dental training at The University of Western Ontario. Interested in all aspects of dentistry he pursued and completed a hospital dental residency at Columbia University - New York Presbyterian Hospital after which he began a residency in oral maxillofacial surgery at SUNY Downstate - Kings County Hospital. He took a hiatus from the oral maxillofacial surgery program to complete medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a year of general surgery before returning and completing his oral maxillofacial surgery training.

Initially starting his career in The United States, he returned full time to Canada in the spring of 2019. Dr. Rifkind enjoys teaching and is on faculty at The University of Toronto where he lectures and teaches undergraduates and residents in the clinics. Dr. Rifkind maintains his medical, dental, oral maxillofacial surgery licenses and anesthesia certification in New York State as well as his dental, oral maxillofacial surgery and anesthesia certification in Ontario. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in oral maxillofacial surgery and a member of multiple oral surgery and dental organizations both in Canada and The United States.

 

While trained in all aspects of oral maxillofacial surgery, Dr Rifkind focuses his practice on dentoalveolar procedures including extractions, implants, hard/soft tissue grafting for reconstruction of the dentoalveolar processes and surgical pathology. His goal is to predictably provide the best possible outcome without compromising safety and comfort.
